AFSCME Worker's Rally at Minnesota Capitol 3/13/2003
More than 1,500 Minnesota members of AFSCME, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, rallied in St. Paul as part of AFSCME Day on the Hill. Union members were updated on pending legislation and met with individual legislators to share their message of solidarity:

FIGHT RISKY PRIVATIZATION SCHEMES
DEFEND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING RIGHTS
STOP THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEE WAGE FREEZE BILL
SUPPORT PUBLIC INVESTMENT IN OUR COMMUNITIES

Public Employees Seek Fair Solution to Budget Deficit - Some people are being asked to sacrifice a great deal — and others not at all — under Governor Tim Pawlenty's proposed budget, public employees told lawmakers Thursday. They called for a fair solution that “shares the pain” of the state's $4.2 billion deficit.
